With temperatures rising, there’s no doubt that this is going to be one of the hottest and balmiest Disney summers we’ve seen in a while. Thankfully, Disney no longer abides by the old “they can drink Pepsi, but they can’t pee in the streets” mentality, and is making sure guests have plenty of access to good ol’ H2O. Over at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe in the Magic Kingdom, two shiny new water fountains, complete with bottle refill stations, have been added to the popular quick service restaurant.
The two fountains currently bookend Bay 2, so if you’re over by Bay 1, there should be one located on the right side, and if you’re over by Bay 3, there should be one by the left side.
“COMING SOON.” These should be fully functioning in the next few days. Luckily, the old fountains are still there, and you can always ask for a cup of ice water at any food and beverage location.
The bottle refill station features those nifty counters that tracks how many plastic bottles we’ve saved by refilling our own canteens.
For fans of bringing your own water bottles to the parks, this is sure to come as a godsend. Gotta stay hydrated!
We’ll be keeping an eye out as more water bottle refill stations are added to the parks. (The other recent addition we saw was over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with the new entrance and bus loop area.)
Make sure you stay safe during these hot summer months! Always remember to use sun protection and drink lots of fluids (especially if you’re tossing back a few Mo’ara Margaritas over at DAK.)
Hopefully we’ll see more of these popping up! So convenient.
They could also start charging a reasonable price for bottled water as Florida water does not taste that good. But this is a great start.
With Florida becoming an environment where 97 degrees is the normal temperature in summer due to climate change, the park group who installs the most of these refillable water stations will get my annual pass money.

I thought this would be a great idea, but it still tastes like Florida water. What happened to the filter? My daughter and I started checking all the water fountains in the parts and we found a few that do not taste like Florida water. Nice idea of saving bottles, but failure on the taste. so not so good.
