It’s back! After not seeing much use since it closed back in 1998, the former upper level of the ImageWorks at the Imagination pavilion at Epcot returned to service earlier this week as the Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge. Let’s take a look around, shall we?

There is a check-in desk and small waiting area downstairs in the new ImageWorks.

Some member merchandise on display downstairs.

You must be a DVC member with an active membership card to gain access, and you are allowed up to 4 guests.

Guests can take the stairs or elevator upstairs, just like when it used to be the ImageWorks.

Computers and a printer for members to use.

An area where kids (and kids at heart) can watch cartoons.

A lot of the old passageways to ImageWorks were simply sealed.

Even though it may not be for everyone, it is nice to see the space back in action.

What do you think?

  1. I wish they had an AP lounge of some type. If Disney is worried about the cost, maybe they can make it a benefit for Platinum and higher levels?

  2. Did they do anything with the old “up” escalator that was enclosed in a cage but still visible on the first floor? I see they covered the tops of both escalators in the new lounge.

  3. Looks nice, but why not use the Rainbow Tunnel as a pathway to a newly imagined use of the old space…perhaps a bar or restaurant? Would’ve made for great nostalgia and a new life for the entirety of a place so many people loved.

    • The rainbow tunnel has been removed for a couple years now. Do a YouTube search for a video from “cotguy86” (just sears that name) and he has the latest video from imageworks as well as a look in body wars including looking into the empty simulator bays. I believe it’s a 2015 video.

  4. I have been on the fence about purchasing DVC for years now (because, you know, money), but if DVC members were given access to the rainbow tunnel, I would join in a heartbeat. 20K Well-spent!

  5. Purchasing DVC was the best thing we ever did. It has saved us TONS of money over the past 9 years so far of use. I’m glad we can recharge in a space just for us but I wish it was more shaded because it is all windows up there. I do love the charging abilities and free beverages and snacks.
