Disney has announced that a new gingerbread display is coming to Disney’s Yacht Club for the 2023 holiday season.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort to Receive Gingerbread Display in 2023

Disney announced the update on the morning of October 23. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, Disney’s Beach Club Resort, Disney’s BoardWalk Resort, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort will round out the list of Disney Resort Hotels that will receive grand gingerbread displays this year; all of these resorts have received such displays in years past.

The displays are often extravagant, with individual resorts often putting their own unique spin on the tradition. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, for example, traditionally builds a large gingerbread house, with last year’s Victorian-style gingerbread house standing 7′ tall and 12′ wide.

The tradition stretches decades at some resorts, like Disney’s Beach Club Resort, which has built a gingerbread carousel for over 20 consecutive years. It’s a more recent tradition at other hotels; Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, for example, got in on the fun in 2021, constructing a “Gingeraffe” (a large giraffe made of gingerbread). The resort expanded the display with the introduction of Debra the gingerbread zebra in 2022.

Disney’s Contemporary Resort traditionally displays a gingerbread castle, with last year’s structure celebrating Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary. Displays at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn typically depict buildings seen along Disney’s BoardWalk entertainment and recreation promenade, with last year’s display depicting the BoardWalk Deli.

Gingerbread treats are often available to purchase near the displays alongside pins, ornaments, and other festive merchandise. The treats are sometimes resort-exclusive and are unique to the display you purchase them at; for example, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge served a giraffe-shaped gingerbread cookie in 2022.

Disney’s Yacht Club Resort is a nautical-themed deluxe resort that opened in 1990. The resort typically displays a Christmas village and model train during the holiday season. You can watch our video of last year’s Christmas village and model train at Disney’s Yacht Club Resort here:
