NEW ‘Frozen’ 10th-Anniversary Dooney & Bourke Crossbody Bag, Backpack Arrive at Walt Disney World Resort

Additional items from Dooney & Bourke’s new “Frozen” 10th-anniversary collection have arrived at Walt Disney World Resort, as we recently found the line’s crossbody bag and backpack at Uptown Jewelers in Magic Kingdom. The recently released accessory collection debuted in its entirety at Disneyland Resort in late November but has had a much slower rollout at Walt Disney World; prior to spotting the new items, we had only seen the collection’s wrist wallet at Creations Shop at EPCOT.

The front of this pebble-grain crossbody bag features several “Frozen” character portraits against a navy blue background. The illustrations are bordered by circular frames that are loosely themed to the characters they encircle. Elsa, for example, is surrounded by ice details, while Kristoff is bordered by intertwined rope. Anna, Sven, and Olaf are also pictured, with the talking snowman’s border being the only one to feature 10th-anniversary branding in the form of a “10” at the base of his frame. A silver Dooney & Bourke plaque is stitched to the front of the bag.

The repeating portrait pattern stretches around the sides of the crossbody bag and onto the back. Snowflake and multi-colored diamond-shaped details fill the negative space between the illustrations.

The crossbody strap matches the bag in navy blue hue. It features white stitching along the interior edges.

The other side features the signature of Griselda Sastrawinata-Lemay, the artist who drew the illustrations used in the “Frozen” 10th-anniversary collection. Sastrawinata-Lemay has worked in the art department of several Walt Disney Animation Studios films, including “Moana,” “Ralph Breaks the Internet,” and “Frozen II.”

Elsa serves as the centerpiece of the collection’s backpack. She wears her signature dress as she walks on an icy floor. The ice-made chandelier-like structure hanging over her head shines a light down on the scene. Multi-colored diamond-shaped designs fill the bag’s navy negative space as a 10th-anniversary snowflake floats over Elsa’s right hand. A silver Dooney & Bourke plaque is stitched over the chandelier.

The icy design at the base of the front of the bag slightly wraps around its navy blue sides, but the gold zipper is what primarily provides the color in this section.

The bag’s straps are navy blue with white contrast stitching. The back of the backpack is navy. The “Frozen” 10th-anniversary tag is attached to the looped strap that peeks over the top of the bag.

The interior of the backpack is lined with the same sky-blue material as the crossbody bag. It, too, features no additional designs or branding.

“Frozen” was released on November 22, 2013, becoming a box office sensation the likes of which Walt Disney Animation Studios, a historically successful production house, had never seen. The film earned over $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office throughout its entire theatrical run, becoming the studio’s highest-performing feature of all time. “Frozen II” was released on November 22, 2019, besting its predecessor at the worldwide box office to the tune of a $1.4 billion global take. Third and fourth entries into the franchise are currently in development.

“Frozen” has long had a presence at Disney’s global parks, taking up a permanent residence at EPCOT in Walt Disney World Resort in 2016 with the opening of Frozen Ever After in the Norway Pavilion. More recently, the “Frozen Holiday Surprise” nighttime show debuted at Magic Kingdom for this year’s holiday season; the show currently runs nightly, with second performances on nights in which Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party occurs.
