As always, the highlight of Star Wars Weekends this year was the Hyperspace Hoopla show at the end of the day, featuring the always popular “Dance Off With the Star Wars Stars”. With the closure of Camp Minnie-Mickey eminent, we were promised a new home for Mickey and Minnie somewhere in Animal Kingdom a few months ago. The location turned out to be the former Beastly Bazaar shop that reopened today after some delay as Adventurers Outpost, supposedly Mickey and Minnie’s exploration headquarters. Just announced out of The Walt Disney World Resort is a new parade coming to The Magic Kingdom in Spring 2014. Festival of Fantasy Parade will bring a celebration of New Fantasyland to the whole park with fantastic new floats, vibrant costumes, and new music that will feature classic Disney songs plus a new parade theme song. The parade floats will highlight stories that include but are not limited to: The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tangled, and Brave. While the latest installment of the “Iron Man” films doesn’t hit theaters for a few more weeks, an “Iron Man 3″-themed monorail train began rolling around the Walt Disney World Resort Seven Seas Lagoon last weekend. The WDI project team – Jim Armagost, Jay Aquilanti, Brian Crosby, Anna Colaizzi and Rick Faber – tackled the challenge of designing for this unique canvas.
