New Art of Disney Website Paints a Pretty Picture

While this may not be a story that excites too many of you, I had to at least mention the development of a new “Art of Disney Parks” website that opened a few days ago. As someone who spends countless hours shopping in the various Art of Disney stores around WDW, buying and trading Disney pins, and now collecting Vinylmation pieces, I am very excited to see the site leave the ugly space it once had for the very organized and elegant home it has now.

Not only does the new and improved site feature a comprehensive calendar of events encompassing Walt Disney World , Disneyland, the Disney Cruise Line, and World of Disney New York, there is also a brand new part dedicated just to Vinylmation.

The sales of these small plastic Mickey characters have been phenomenal, selling out everywhere they have had them (except for World of Disney New York which still had a wealth of them for sale on Saturday when I visited). Disney sees the Vinylmation craze lasting for a very long time, and we expect Vinylmation trading areas and trading nights to be tested sometime in 2010. For the time being, you can see the current and upcoming series HERE. The second series titled “Urban Series #1” should hit stores March 20, 2009.
