D23 Expo Day 2 Recap (9/11/09)

As we did with the first day of the D23 Expo, here is a recap from today’s events at the Anaheim Convention Center. First up, some press images from some of today’s events:

Disney Cruise Line President Karl Holz and Donald Duck reveal plans on Sept. 11, 2009 in Anaheim, Calif. for the Disney Wonder cruise ship to sail to Alaska in 2011. This is the first time a Disney cruise ship will call the West Coast home for an entire year. During 2011, the ship will depart Vancouver, B.C. for Alaska and sail seven-night Mexican Riviera cruises from the Port of Los Angeles

The Muppets perform “Rainbow Connection” at the Walt Disney Pictures Presentation. Their new movie “The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made” was announced today

Dick Cook talks about Robert Zemeckis’ upcoming re-make of the classic Beatles movie “Yellow Submarine” in 3D for Disney

Kelly Preston, Ella Bleu Travolta and John Travolta at the Walt Disney Pictures Presentation, in promotion for “Old Dogs”

Nicolas Cage appeared to talk about “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”

Miley Cyrus surprised everyone to perform “The Climb” from her upcoming movie “The Last Song”

Director Robert Zemeckis (“A Christmas Carol”) and Director Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland”)

John Travolta (“Old Dogs”) and Nicolas Cage (“The Sorcerer’s Apprentice”)

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer (“The Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time”), Miley Cyrus (“The Last Song”), and Nicolas Cage again

After the panel, Steve confirmed that the rumored fountain encores will be in the show. Also announced was that Amy Grant will sing the World of Color soundtrack

Taking a quick break away from the D23 Expo, the Ratatouille float has once again been removed from the Pixar Play Parade

And for some reason, Lightning McQueen was at the back of the parade with Tow Mater
