DLR Photo Report From The WDWNT Crew (9/9-9/14/09)

I, along with Tom Corless, Kenny Siegel, Scott Smith, and Matt Paul spent plenty of time at Disneyland during the D23 Expo, and we got some pictures of new happenings around the Resort. Here is our shared photo report:


During the D23 Expo, Disney set up a special tram service running from across the street from the Anaheim Convention Center, to the old Lion King Tram loading area near Harbor Blvd.

Construction on the new backstage facilities behind what will eventually be Cars Land

Billboards for “Wizards on Deck with Hannah Montana” and “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” have been placed on Stage 17

A list of attractions that were and are closed for refurbishment through-out the Resort

The walls for the new stroller rental location in the Esplanade have been expanded outwards

Walls are up in front of the CALIFORNIA letters

Signs are up around the walls directing guests to the entrance of Disney’s California Adventure

A bunch of random characters can be found on these construction walls, like the Little Einsteins

And Handy Manny

The Pixar Play Parade on Friday weirdly began like this

The Toy Story section came up as usual

But after that came Lightning McQueen

Followed by Tow Mater

A look around the new Lucky Fortune Cookery

The sign looks lovely lit up at night

World of Color construction

One of the Jumpin’ Jellyfish towers is closed and under tarps

The boardwalk queue underneath Silly Symphony Swings appears to be progressing nicely

The Autopia car is new, while The Haunted Mansion Gus one was available only at the 9/9/09 40th anniversary event

Halloween merchandise is already starting to pop up around the Resort

Some work going on at the entrance to Frontierland

The Haunted Mansion is closed for the installation of Haunted Mansion Holiday, which this year will feature some 40th anniversary surprises ;)

Royal Street Veranda is currently closed for refurbishment

Honey, I Shrunk the Audience was closed Tuesday through Thursday last week to install equipment for a private management screening of Captain EO, to see if the show might return this January

Space Mountain is closed for the installation of the first annual Ghost Galaxy overlay

The Tomorrowland repaving project is being completed

Construction on the new, permanent turkey leg stand coming to Fantasyland, Edelweiss Snacks

The Enchanted Cottage at the Princess Fantasy Faire is still closed for refurbishment

The amazing new Fantasmic dragon “Murphy”

Over at Downtown Disney, the Toy Story/Toy Story 2 double feature is coming out for a two week run at the AMC beginning October 2nd

The big renovation of the Disneyland Hotel has begun, starting with the Dreams tower

As you can see, some of the windows have already been ripped out

Mickey’s Trick-or-Treat Party is the usual big push for Halloween Time

And we’ll end this photo report with the new bag design for the scrumptious Mickey Mouse Pretzels
