Town Square Theater Soft-Opens to Guests!

Town Square Theater on Main Street U.S.A. at the Magic Kingdom held some soft openings yesterday to welcome the very first guests to the new homes of Mickey Mouse and the Disney Princesses. We have a ton of photos from WDWNT Reporters Robert Ashburn and Taylor Martina to share with you. Keep in mind that they both made several trips through the lines at the new location, so these photos are presented in the order they were taken. Basically, you will see that we go in circles from entrance, to meet and greet, to entrance over and over again. We would have attempted to sort all of these photos together in order, but we really wanted to get this information out to you as soon as possible. Without any further ado, here is an in-depth look at Town Square Theater:

  1. Expect more of Mickey’s offices here after the Princesses move to Fairytale Hall in late 2012.

    I don't think so.

A rumor I read on another forum is that when the Princesses are finally able to go back home to Fantasyland, their current room in the Town Square Theater might be converted into the "theater stage" section of the place, holding meet-and-greets with other characters from the Mickey & Friends franchise (Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip & Dale, Clarabelle, Horace, Oswald, etc.), which would be an excellent idea.

Besides, some of the posters in the Town Square Theater's queue area depicts some of Mickey's pals in them (ie: Oswald the Disappearing Rabbit, etc.).

    Hope this rumor comes true.

    • It's possible, plans change. The shape of both sides is almost identical, but based on how short they have gotten the line Mickey, that may not be the plan any longer.

  2. Great post! Thank you so much for the pictures!
I love noticing details like these…
I have a Disney blog too and will soon be mentioning this post there, if you don't mind.
