As if Star Tours wasn’t enough news for one weekend out team is attending Destination D as well. One of the biggest annoucments today of course is the return of the Enchanted Tiki Room, which will feature a new show according to the Disney Parks Blog which is “reminiscent of the original show”. Here is a quick photo report from the team at Destination D thus far. Sorry for the quality but we wanted to get them to you as soon as we could. Stay tuned for a full report from Tom and the team when they return next week from all the events.
New Logo…Very Retro
-A recap of some Star Tours concept art and pre-show was covered with Imagineer Jason Surell. Surell commented that he didn’t want the Hoth battle in Star Tours since it didn’t fit the story but Lucas’s reaction was “who cares”.
The presentation continued with the Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
Main Building of Disney’s Art of Animation Inn
Cars Room Interiors
Lion King Rooms
Little Mermaid Rooms
On to Fantasyland Expansion!
It was announced that it will snow outside the windows of the Be Our Guest Restaurant EVERYDAY!
Dumbo will be getting a new color scheme more consistent with the Fantasyland Circus and a centerpiece more consistent with the movie.
-Also discussed was the layout of the seven Dwarfs Mine Train will go up lift, through forrest, then into dark ride scenes with AAs, then up dark lift and through forrest again.
Though it isn’t news from the event walls have gone up around the Fantasyland Skyway Station…this building won’t be there for much longer!
All this is AWESOME! thanks for sharing. Are the scrim walls down at Cindy's Castle?
On my opinion, I think they're going to stay up until the expansion is done so guests don't see what is going on.
i never thought of it that way but it would make logical sense but could possibly upset guests… i mean if they were really worried about that wouldnt they have closed dumbo as well when the expansion began?
The back of castle refurb is now done and the scrims are down.
