Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room Soft Opening Photo Report

WDWNT Reporter Brandon Struve visited The Magic Kingdom on Sunday to catch the soft-opening of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.  Let’s take a look at the “new” attraction:

The new sign marking this as Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room

Let’s get in line

Preshow does not have fire in the water… I seem to remember the original doing so

The “new” pre-show

The birds look great. All brightly painted and feathered.

The Hawaiian War Chant has been trimmed a bit

No more clicking and hydraulic noises when the AA’s move

Crowds seemed engaged, each song had applause.

Show’s over, time to disappear.

Goodbye Adventureland…

Brandon noted a couple of comments on the show:

  • Offenbach was once again left on the cutting room floor.
  • The enchanted fountain is not mentioned, and in its place is a very light smoke effect that shoots up to retrieve the bird mobile. It also shoots out smoke when the Tiki Gods are angered
  • Let’s All Sing Like the Birdies Sing is chopped quite a bit and they no longer do the sing along at the end.  It just abruptly stops.
  • It seems like any song that previously had multiple verses is missing at least one verse each.

  1. Grr! I can't beleive they would change so much! I must say, with apologies, that WDI seem to be getting lazy…
I just hope they didn't take too much off of In The Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Room. I actually love that song. And what's Offenbach?
