Today released the first pictures of the Furry Friends series scheduled to be released in January 9th, 2012. Check out these two pictures.

Pics from Disney

Both are super adorable! And it looks like Anne Marie nailed this series on the head with her speculation! (Article here) Oliver and Pluto are on her list, as are several others who would look cute in this style.

The heads seem to be the new mold, but the arms seem like something new. And I find it interesting that we specifically can’t see the bodies or feet of either. Is there a bigger surprise down the road?

The site says this will be part of a limited release blind box series. It will retail for $10.95 a box.

Disney also said, “And in celebration of the release of the Vinylmation – Furry Friends series, the Disney Store will donate $60,000 to the ASPCA – $1 for every unit produced! • 10.95 a box, another slight price increase, ugh disney. However, I am very pleased there donating a share of their sales to a charitable cause

  • i’m waiting to see the rest of the bodies. I’ll probably end up with them just becuase I’m all for donations to animal causes :) not too big into the arms right yet….

  • I really like the way the arms look. I wonder if the rest of the mold has been modified for this set. Could this be the first set where the detachable feet come in to play because they will look like animal feet? I have not collected any new mold vinlys but I am excited about this set, can’t wait to see the rest of the characters and what the rest of the mold looks like.

  • Really glad to hear about the connection with ASPCA on this one! For that reason alone, I’ll be buying a few of these.

  • Yeah, I was about to say… it seems like WE’RE the ones making the donation. Which is fine, but let’s call a spade a spade, here.

  • I have been waiting for a set just like this since I started collecting vinylmations!!!! I am super excited, they look great. I also love the fact that Disney is going to donate money to the ASPCA, that is great, even though they raised the price $1 per vinyl.

  • My curiosity is piqued. I like the new paw. The new mold head actually works here. Curious to see the bod. Will they redesign it? Let’s hope so! Tails on this set would be sweet. A paw foot would be an awesome addition also.

  • Love this, i do however wonder how it would sit on my shelf with paws in the air. Not sure it’ll sit well at all, but I am excited by this none the less. Would have preferred a textured body though.

  • I’ll be running the WDW Marathon and I will be there for the release! I can’t wait for these!!! As a true animal lover these are a must have in my collection. I already am a member of ASPCA, so I am more than happy that Disney will help donate to the pets in need. They look like they are a very cute Vinyl. Maybe the belly’s will be “fuzzy and furry!”
