I had some time yesterday to drop by Day 1 of the 2012 EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival. The opening scene was from Fantasia with Sorcerer Mickey rising high above the walking mops. The sides of display featured dancing animals included ostriches, hippos and gators. Of course, the Fab 5 graced the entrance to World Showcase and the princes and princesses danced within. Hope you enjoy these first pictures, I’ll bring you more on my next visit this weekend. (click any for larger image)

Looks nice. Just wish they would start making new topiaries more often instead of recycling them, but that’s just me.
The Cars 2 one needs to be moved to another location. Or removed completely.
Nope, not just you. I 100% agree.
I second that. I’ve been going every year and it’s starting to feel a little lackluster in that there’s nothing to look forward to.If I didn’t have a pass currently I doubt I’d buy a ticket just to see the same stuff that’s been shown for the last few years.
Now all that being said, Disney’s answer would be it’s not about us APs, but the tens of thousands of new/one-time guests coming through the turnstiles. Because you have to admit, the topiaries that we see are pretty cool. It’s along the same lines of the reason an Imagineer gave us for not giving WDW’s Haunted Mansion a Nightmare Before Christmas layover… DLR gets it because a majority of their guests are locals, WDW is the opposite.
GREAT shots Nick! Really shows what everyone is missing if they can’t make it.
Was there a 2012 Flower & Garden Vinylmation?….and if so did you get one?
Be sure to post a picture.
Nick, Wow what awesome photos!!! You did a fantastic job capturing the essence of F&G! I’ll be there in 18 days, this post is getting me rev’ed up to go!
Thank you very much. It’s a tough job, but….
