I LOVE the Donald. Also the use of the Minnie platform for the females is perfect. These look great in person but like most of you, I don’t love the purchasing configuration. In pins, Reveal/Conceal works much better. You don’t have to purchase the same revealed pin over and over. Disney has made it easier to complete sets by reducing them to 8, but this goes the other way. But if you are looking for just one or two of the characters, you should be able to trade for them easy enough. It’s not supposed to be easy, and that is the point.

Sorcerer Mickey. This is what I expected from one the other Imagineer figures. It looks good and I look forward to seeing the other 4!

Here is MC’s horrible artist rendering of what this packaging will look like. Sorcerer on top and one of 4 blind boxed in the bottom.

  1. Love the idea, hate the execution. You’ll end up with for Mickey’s (If your lucky) if you want the entire collection!

  2. A year ago, seeing how there are only a few in this set, I think they would have been an open-window set. Clearly open window doesn’t always work and they can sit around a long time and clog up trade boxes with vinyls no one wants. They could have at least tried to execute this in a way that maybe had the boxes packaged, sold and put on shelves separately and randomly, no tray included; that would still make people buy single boxes, and now Topiary Mickey’s will be clogging up the boxes…

  3. So, we have to spend a honey-bee just to have a “chance” at getting the whole set (trading aside)??? Meanwhile, we’re left w/ at LEAST 3 sorcerers that are extra? I’m sorry, but that’s extremely slimy. Sickening actually.

  4. Wait. In addition to that sneaky catch-22, TWO Mickeys? Why no Pluto or Goofy? In fact, why no mystery chaser at all (at least that is what’s implied from the pic)? And open edition? After seeing how various open window series since last year featuring the main characters are still sitting on shelves, do they really expect these to sell?
