It’s a shame that so many outside brands are being brought in, which will really cheapen the place in my opinion. I’d much rather Disney focused on creating their own unique shopping experiences, rather than shoehorning in bog standard places that anyone can find at their local shopping centre.
I totally agree with George on this. It really is a shame.
I don’t know where you live, but I am in Atlanta and we don’t have these particular stores here. We have always loved going to Little Miss Matched at the marketplace and enjoy the interesting mix of stores Disney has booked over there. Believe me, we drink the Kool aid, but I just don’t want every store to be Disney themed and Disney run. That said, here’s hoping these stores will offer some appropriate merchandise. The hat selection in the Mercantiles really has been lacking over the past 2 years.
I am so pumped that there is going to be a Sanuk store! I just discovered this brand a few weeks ago and they are the most comfortable shoes!! Love their style, quality and the vibe of the style! The stores Disney brings in are not standard fare stores that you can find in every shopping mall out there. A Mickey inspired Sanuk is surely on the list :)
I realize a lot of folks enjoy going to DTD(or Disney Springs)but for me, its just a big, crowded, glorified shopping center. There are a few places, Ghiradelli, World of Disney and Raglan Rd. that will draw me in. But for the most, once I have seen the new changes a time or 2, got a feeling that will be enough.
The gluten-free bakery is sorely needed as Disney has really dropped the ball for those with allergies!
I love that it is a giant themed area. My wife and I will just grab a drink and stroll and people watch. You occasionally find some unique things too!
I agree that it has turned into a glorified mall. Until they add back some entertainment – specifically the improv club – DTD has little appeal for us. When the entertainment venues were open, we would always make an evening of it by also including some shopping and dinner. We generally avoid it now.
I can’t wait to see Sound Lion to Disney Springs I hope it’s official!
It’s always entertaining when people say they already dislike something that doesn’t even exist yet.
A shame that Disney leadership didn’t reimanginering the “Mickey Hat” into the Spring area.
