Bob Chapek has been named Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, replacing Tom Staggs who is moving up to COO.
Chapek, who starts his new role today, and reports to both Staggs and company chairman and CEO Bob Iger, has worked for Disney for the past 22 years. He has served as president of Disney Consumer Products since 2011.
I HOPE they give him the power to fire a ton of bean counters, who have taken over Disney WDW Florida. These managers often aren’t fans of the brand, they see it as a short term profit center, forgetting it’s the guest experience and legacy that might bring them back. Sometimes gotta give a little, to get a little. Disney has forgotten this.
