Despite an announced June 21st opening date, the Royal Sommerhus meet and greet opened to the public on Friday at Epcot. The Frozen meet and greet pavilion is the new home to Anna and Elsa and opens at 9am (which is when Frozen Ever After and the Norway and Mexico pavilions will now open come Tuesday morning).
The architecture is beautiful, seamlessly fitting into the existing World Showcase.
Wait times have remained low, a byproduct of having multiple meet and greet rooms in this custom built location.
The interior is gorgeous, going more authentic then cartoon based.
One of the many tapestries pays homage to Maelstrom!
After winding through the queue, guests are directed to one of four possible rooms in which to meet Anna and Elsa.

Needless to say, the Royal Sommerhus exits into its own gift shop…
The team that brought this project to life really went above and beyond to fit the Royal Sommerhus into World Showcase. This is by far one of, if no the most authentically themed space in all of World Showcase, and it is home to a meet and greet… not a restaurant, not a ride, but just a space to meet Anna and Elsa. The attention to detail and the effort by Disney to decrease lines to meet their most popular characters can only be seen as a massive success. The Royal Sommerhus is a pleasant addition to the park that takes away from the existing experience in no way, in fact, the facade does a wonderful job filling in an otherwise forgotten expansion pad in Epcot.
I love Josh’s look of ‘I can’t believe we’re doing this’. Double the awkwardness, double the fun!
