Since we reported on the beginning of the new paint scheme a few weeks ago, I know many readers have been anxious to see the finished product on the Carousel of Progress at the Magic Kingdom. Well, it finally appears that the project is nearing completion:
The doors now feature the original pavilion logo used at the park, although the arrows are going the wrong way… (we are nitpicking though)
The design is loosely based on concept art John Hench created for the Disneyland version of the attraction.
Any remaining gear-related signage should be leaving shortly, probably during the short refurbishment next week.
If you want to see the new facade in action, we also have a video to share with you today:
I like this so much better. The gears graphics never appealed to me.
Great graphics, but first thing I noticed was the wrong direction of the arrows!!
I would imagine the arrows go that way because of “progress”. I would think if the arrows went counterclockwise it would be showing the past and not the future? Just a guess.
anyone know if they are redoing the inside with new seats/carpeting?
My favorite ride! Looks great! Now somebody make a TeePublic T-Shirt of it!
The arrows on the door remines me a origanal version at disneyland.
My family and I were there in April and got stuck in the carousel! We sat in our seats, not moving, and listened to the same Christmas scene, turkey burning in the oven for about 20 minutes! We finally got up and walked out. Hopefully that little problem has been fixed!
So what the exterior was painted, the ride is a mess, outdated and goes down all the time. The inside is really disgusting…..just went to it yesterday
