Disney Offering Heavily Discounted 1-Day Park Hopper Tickets for Passholder Friends and Family

I don’t remember the last time Disney offered a deal quite this good on 1-day tickets, but friends and family of Annual Passholders can get 1-day park hopper tickets for just $79.00 each. These tickets usually cost about $135.00 for Florida residents.

The offer is valid August 12th-September 30th, 2016. Annual Passholders must be present with a valid pass and the tickets can only be purchased at Walt Disney World theme park ticket windows.

  1. It seems like Disney World is hurting for attendance right now offering these discounts. DO you think they will jack up annual pass rates this year or keep status quo? I have a feeling an AP rate hike is coming either way, which way would you lean on that?

  2. AP rates were already hiked this year. I think they are doing it more so as a perk for passholders. Always wanted a discounted rate for visiting guests and friends. Would love if this deal became permanent one day.

    • I look at this like a perk as I look at the half price after hours tickets for ap holders as perk. Ask Disney and its a perk, ask anyone else its supply and demand. October is when the ap prices usually get hiked up and I have a feeling we may be getting raked over the coals because ap holder money is guaranteed and up front.

    • Just looked into it. The discount offer was in the Passholder August Newsletter. You can buy up to 6 tickets, HOWEVER, they are same day tickets :-(
So no stocking up on tickets. You have to use them the day you purchase them.

  3. If Disney Co. would drop the Black Out dates on the Military Passes they would generate revenue. Most military cannot plan trips during spring break and Holidays because of Black Out Dates.

    • They have zero reason to offer any discounts during those times. They’re busy making money off more lucrative guests. They only incentivize when they’re not at capacity. In Disney’s mind, they’re never making enough money off the park’s guests.

  4. Disney just wants 100% occupancy of the every single of their parks every day, and lots of money made off of each of those individuals. As a passholder, I’m glad there offering it our way..this is a nice promotion..Im sure if I take people, they’ll buy stuff. And that’s what’s important!!! (to Disney) They run many specials to Brazilians and others that you don’t hear about here to ‘pad’ their less busy seasons. This is just a new type.

I think Disney will hike prices as normal, and that should be announced pretty soon.

    • ….Will also add….I’m not complaining, and personally DO NOT MIND if they hike prices. MY complaint is how dirty and less service oriented they’ve become. I’d pay double for less crowds and a better ‘experience’ based activities that just aren’t more money makers.

  5. Interesting to point out how they’re selling this as a huge sale. And I’m not blasting them for finally throwing AP holders a well deserved and overdue bone, but $79 was the going rate for a base ticket ONLY 6 years ago! (source allearsnet) At current rate of increase exponentially, we’re north of $400/day/person in 6 more years.
