UPDATE: “Fantasy in the Sky” Fireworks Replacing More Expensive Disneyland Forever Show; Only On Weekends

We’ve been telling you for a few months now that the Disneyland Forever fireworks show would be going away come September 5th at Disneyland Park, well, Disney has finally confirmed that there will indeed be a regular fireworks show following that, the “classic” Fantasy in the Sky”.

“Fantasy in the Sky” is a much smaller scale show, typically used as a filler show when new shows are being developed for the park, so the change is assumed to be mostly budgetary in nature. Also, the continuous attendance growth at Disneyland has made it a challenge to present fireworks nightly, especially with the large amount of construction happening in the back of the park currently.

“Fantasy in the Sky” will perform Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through November 2016, when the holiday-themed fireworks are slated to return.

  1. Didn’t you say that no fireworks were going to be presented during the fall. I knew that wasn’t the case. There is also a brand new show coming for summer 2017.

  2. I’m so disappointed that Disneyland Forever is being discontinued. It was my favorite fireworks spectacular ever. We had Remember for nearly nine years.

    • The Halloween parties are scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in October. The “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks is set to occur on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays through November. Do you know if “Fantasy in the Sky” will occur on Friday nights when there is a Halloween party scheduled?

      • If the Halloween Party is scheduled on Fridays, Fantasy in the Sky will not be presented so in that case of a Friday Halloween Party, Fantasy in the Sky will be only on Saturday and Sunday of that particular week

  3. We are travelling from London and are in the parks 13th and 14th of September does this mean no fireworks?!

  4. We sat down on Friday, got a seat, waited for an hour and the show was terrible. It was under 5 minutes and nothing. Disneyland is so crowded now it is not good. Everyone walks around staring at their cell phones and oblivious to what is going on and blocking walking paths. The lines were all at least 30 minutes and it was crowded until midnight. No train and some major rides closed. I will not be returning for at least a decade. Once Star Wars land opens, I cannot even imagine how nuts this place will be. The only day to go there may be on Superbowl Sunday in the future.
