Dr. Strange Meet and Greet Not Happening, Moana Preview Coming to Hollywood Studios

For a limited time starting November 5, a sneak peek of Disney’s next big adventure, the sweeping animated feature “Moana,” will be presented as part of the One Man’s Dream attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, offering guests an advance look at scenes from the film. The removal of the Doctor Strange preview shuts down any hope of a character meet and greet coming, despite Disney casting for actors to portray the hero. The work inside of One Man’s Dream is likely related to some sort of new theme park model, possibly for Pandora: The World of AVATAR at Disney’s Animal Kingdom or the Star Wars & Toy Story Lands at Hollywood Studios.

This special preview of “Moana” is also currently playing at Disneyland Resort, where guests can catch the sneak peek in Disney California Adventure park at the Bug’s Life Theater, featuring a 3D presentation with exclusive in-theater effects.

Directed by the renowned filmmaking team of Ron Clements and John Musker (“The Little Mermaid,” “Aladdin,” “The Princess and the Frog”), produced by Osnat Shurer (“Lifted,” “One Man Band”), and featuring music by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Mancina and Opetaia Foa‘i, “Moana” sails into theaters in 3D on November 23, 2016.

  1. Oh look another Tom rumor not coming true. Maybe you should just assume now it’s a Moana meet and greet. Then when that’s not true because of the coming Guardians 2 preview, you can assume it’ll be a Guardians 2 meet and greet. Better luck with your assuming that you pass off as legit rumors next time!

      • Actually there were never plans for a Dr. Strange meet and greet. Another glance at the original audition and you’ll see they were looking for actors who would be covered under an Actors Equity Association contract. Meet and greet characters are never covered under Equity. So, yes he made a poor, misinformed assumption based on no evidence.

  2. According to the Tell-a-Cast for Hollywood Studios, Doctor Strange will be meeting next to Pixar Place starting on Friday November 4

    • Which Tom will then take credit for. One Man’s Dream is next to Pixar Place, so he’s TECHNICALLY right. Great job Tom!

      • Did Tom do something IRL to upset you, “Rumor has it”? Because your posts lately have seemed obsessive. We all can get a little salty toward Disney fan site writers, but WDWNT rumor posts are better quality than most and are fun to talk about even if they aren’t always right. Making a lot of personal call outs to the writer just makes you sound like a crazy ex-girlfriend.

  3. I’m glad Dr strange meet and greet is not coming . Hard to explain to my son why we are in line to meet someone named strange when i teach him not to go talk to strangers. But seriously I love the rumor story’s some come true some don’t it keeps us thinking of what might be . Keep the rumors coming those of us who have an imagination far out number those who just complain about everything.

    • You know I’ve never thought about it like that before, but it’s kind of easy to explain just because Strange is his last name. It reminds me of how we have always taught our son to never ever say shut up and then that song shut up and dance became super popular and was played everywhere we were at, so it was really hard to explain to him why it wasn’t bad they were saying it in the song, but he still can’t say it.
