As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic spreads throughout the United States, a total of three Transportation Security Administration agents at Orlando International Airport (MCO) have tested positive for the disease.
As we’ve learned from WESH, TSA officials revealed that the positive cases were confirmed today, bringing the number of agents at the airport that have tested positive up to three, with one case already reported earlier in the week, plus two new cases. The first case was announced last weekend.
From the TSA:
“TSA confirms today that two additional Transportation Security Officers who work at Orlando International Airport have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. One officer is resting at home and the other is receiving medical care at a hospital. TSA employees who have come in contact with the officers during the past 14 days were notified and provided direction on next steps.”
The airport and security checkpoints remain open as of the writing of this article, and the TSA stated that the are working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Orange County Department of Health to “monitor the situation.”
