No disintegrations––Boba Fett’s back, and he’s set to appear on Season 2 of “The Mandalorian”, however there’s a fun twist to it… the character will be played by the man who originally played Boba’s father (or rather, the originator… of his genetic coding?) Jango in Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.

According to Variety, Temuera Morrison is returning to Star Wars to play Boba Fett on Season 2 of “The Mandalorian”. Rumors had been circling about a Boba Fett appearance after a mysterious off-screen character tipped off fans at the very end of an episode in Season 1.

The role will be a minor one, but one fans will be excited to see. “The Mandalorian”  is set five years after Return of the Jedi. If you’re wondering what actually happened in that Sarlacc pit, it was revealed in Star Wars Legends that Boba actually survived his apparent death. No one’s ever really gone…

  1. This is excellent news. The popularity of Boba Fett skyrocketed off the charts more than anyone could have possibly imagined. He was supposed to be a minor character, and when Lucas wrote him off in VI, he expected that to be the end of it. The longer Fett’s fate has been questioned–or him being out of sight–the more popular he has become. The fact Temuera Morrison is going to play him makes this even more sweet.

Something interesting I just thought of…Mandalorians as we know do not take off their helmets for anyone to see. Boba Fett wears Mandalorian armor, but he is not a Mandalorian. Does he follow the code as if he is one, or will we see him take of his helmet as others would not? I’m guessing his does what other Mandalorians do and only takes it off in private. Using Temuera Morrison would make no sense unless we see his face, so perhaps we’ll see Boba Fett sitting back in his home, take off his armor, and kick back with a nice beverage recounting his adventures of the day.
