Walt Disney World Releases Additional Information on New Theme Park Reservation System for Reopening

Walt Disney World will be requiring guest reservations for the phased reopening of its theme parks starting on July 11. While reservations have yet to open, additional details have been released.

Disney will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that will require all guests to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance:

“At this time, we are temporarily pausing new ticket sales and Disney Resort hotel reservations so we can focus on guests with existing tickets and reservations (Disney Vacation Club members can still make new reservations). Existing ticket holders and Annual Passholders will be able to make reservation requests in phases before new tickets are sold; we’ll be reaching out to these guests soon to provide additional details. We will resume new ticket sales and hotel reservations after that period of time. Theme park reservations will be limited due to attendance limitations and will be subject to availability.”

More details about this new reservation system will be released soon.

  1. So, if I have a dvc reservation but haven’t purchased my AP yet, can I still buy it, or am I out of luck?

    • Same question I have. I would hope they would allow those with existing reservations to still buy tickets.

  2. So in essence, no park hopping. 1 day, one park. Also no guarantee if you have a resort reservation for lets say October, that you will get a theme park reservation. What could possibly go wrong with this scenario? Ugh.

    • I’m hoping they make exceptions for those of us who have park-hopper tickets. Otherwise, my annual pass is pretty much pointless.

  3. I called disney about my pass that expires on 6/8 having the closed dates added. Disney advised that since my pass wont be active on 7/11, I wouldnt get the extension. I would have to renew first. has anyone heard this?

  4. Any news on DVC previews…I missed passholder previews… =( Event was full before I even got on.
