With today’s start of Cast Member previews at the newly-reopened Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World, we have our first look at the layout of the new mask-free “Relaxation Stations” throughout the park.

In Fantasyland, guests can step right up and relax at Pete’s Silly Sideshow, one of three locations at the park where guests may remove their face mask. Guests can also find Relaxation Stations near Golden Oak Outpost at the border of Frontierland and Adventureland, and at Tomorrowland Terrace in Tomorrowland.

While character meet-and-greets are temporarily suspended in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the venue serves as a Relaxation Station.

Social distancing markers appear in the queue.

I guess if you consider some downtime fun, this sign is still accurate.

This location offers a major attraction that the other stations in the park don’t: Air conditioning!

Tables are socially distanced at least ten feet, like at the other stations.

The staging areas where meet-and-greets usually happen have been roped off.

A word of caution, though: Our reporter noticed that tables were not being wiped down after every visit. Still, with air conditioning, this will likely prove to be a very popular spot in the coming months.

  1. I’d avoid any air-conditioned public places as best I could. Seems that much of the covid outbreaks are occurring during the hot months because people are looking to escape the heat, and getting recycled air blown at them. I know how hard staying out in the burning Florida heat can be this time of year, but exercise caution with these zones.

  2. Recirculated/air conditioned air WILL spread the virus. This defeats the whole idea of maskwearing in the park.
