UPDATE: The Oriental Land Company has confirmed to us that The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast is not currently set to open for Happy 15 Entry beginning October 1st. The resumption of Happy 15 Entry and the opening of the New Fantasyland expansion are currently undecided. The original story below remains.
With the extended closure of Tokyo Disneyland earlier this year, the highly-anticipated New Fantasyland expansion featuring E-ticket The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast, slated to open April 15th, was delayed indefinitely earlier this year. But we may finally get our first ride on the revolutionary new attraction soon, according to the Tokyo Disney Resort website!
Happy 15 is a privilege of Guests at the Disney Hotels, similar to Extra Magic Hours at Walt Disney World. Guests can enter Tokyo Disneyland or DisneySea 15 minutes early to experience popular attractions before everyone else. Currently, the program is suspended due to adjusted operations for COVID-19, but the program is set to return October 1st according to the official TDR website.
The official site lists Toy Story Mania and Soaring: Fantastic Flight as participants for Tokyo DisneySea, but curiously only notes one attraction for Tokyo Disneyland—The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast.
The Oriental Land Company has noted in financial reports that construction on New Fantasyland is complete and ready to open, and we’ve reported on the expansion essentially being completed as well. But they have stated previously that an opening date hasn’t been decided, and will be set based on operations and conditions at the park after reopening.
This change could mean that OLC is ready to open the massive expansion project, at least in trial runs for Happy 15 Guests. But nothing has been confirmed as of yet, and the Oriental Land Company hasn’t yet released any statement on New Fantasyland since the park’s reopening, including details on The Happy Ride with Baymax or Mickey’s Magical Music World. This could also be a mistake on the site developer’s part, as the attraction was there before the park closure. The Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast was always planned to be a Happy 15 attraction, after all. We will continue to update on this story as it develops, so stay tuned to WDW News Today for the latest updates.
