Despite ongoing Cast Member discussions on the possibility of a temporary Walt Disney Studios Park closure at Disneyland Paris, Disney has specifically stated that there are no talks to close the park. That being said, we are not the only source on the story, which is currently a hot topic on various fan sites and social media accounts specializing in Disneyland Paris.
Disneyland Paris recently announced reopening delays for two of its resort hotels, with Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne will be closing again for a season from October through March 2021. Currently, while both Disney’s Newport Bay Club and Disney’s Hotel Santa Fe remain open for guests at Disneyland Paris, Disney’s Davy Crockett Ranch will remain closed and has no set reopening date. Even the grand opening of the highly-anticipated Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel was quietly postponed to March 8, 2021 after a series of delays.
Between generally low attendance and the fact that the park is essentially an active construction site for the upcoming Marvel expansion, Cars Route 66 Road Trip, and more, Disneyland Paris is struggling to entice guests to visit Walt Disney Studios Park. Park hopping is allowed, unlike at Walt Disney World, and the fan-favorite “Jungle Book Jive” musical show is scheduled to return on August 22 for a limited-time summer run, but it’s unknown how the park will fare once its run is over.
As always, we stand by our sources, and clearly there are enough other legitimate sources also reporting this story to be confident that talks are being had in regards to a possible Walt Disney Studios Park closure, but we owe it to our readers to inform them that Disneyland Paris has reached out to say that this is false.
We’ll continue to update you on the status of Walt Disney Studios Park, including any unplanned closures—only time will tell.
I’m currently in the middle of a week long trip to Disneyland Paris and would welcome the studios being closed to allow them to allocate more staff to the main park.
Currently it’s very clear they are short staffed and distancing/crowd management is not possible with the number of staff they have in the park right now.
