If you’re a fan of Disney’s collectible keys, you’re in luck! shopDisney is getting ready to release some new collectibles in October.
While October may be reserved for ghosts and goblins, it’ll begin to look a lot like the holiday season with this Holiday Ornament Collectible Key coming Sunday, October 4th. Keeping with the store’s recent gingerbread-themed merchandise, this year’s key, dated 2020, features Mickey Mouse as a gingerbread cookie. With a smile and a wink on his face and a Santa hat on his head, Mickey dangles off the midsection, while a gingerbread version of a castle can be found on the bottom. And if that wasn’t sweet enough, the Disney “D” handle is decorated to look like a candy cane! The key comes with a fabric lanyard to help you hang it on your tree.
On Saturday, October 17th, it’s “lights, camera, action” on a new set of keys themed to four of The Walt Disney Company’s studios. The key for Walt Disney Animation Studios features the “D” handle decorated like Mickey’s sorcerer hat from Fantasia, serving as a neat nod to the entrance to the studio building in Burbank. Pixar Animation Studios’ key replaces the castle with one of Pixar’s earliest stars, Luxo Jr., and that famed red, yellow and blue ball, whose design also appears on the handle. The Avengers assemble on the Marvel key, which features comic book art and the emblems for such superheroes as: Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, and Doctor Strange. And finally, the Lucasfilm key takes us to a galaxy far, far away with the stars of Star Wars. Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker are featured in the middle of the key, surrounded by the intimidating look of the Death Star. This is a perfect gift for Disney and film fans.
Both of these are scheduled to be released at 7 AM PT/10 AM ET on their respective days, very likely through the MerchPass drawing system. And if you love these keys, keep an eye out on November 22nd for the Toy Story 25th Anniversary Key!
