School Bread, the delicious favorite dessert of EPCOT fans, has finally returned to the Norway Pavilion in EPCOT, with a special Frozen twist. This classic toasted coconut sweet bread with custard is now topped with a sugar Olaf. Let’s take a bite and see if it’s as good as we remember!

The School Bread was a surprisingly large portion, more akin to a creme-filled donut than a small treat.

The bread itself was firm enough to contain the generous helping of custard held within and perched upon the snack.

The custard was creamy, but not too rich, creating a nice balance with the bread.

The glazed coconut on top added more texture than taste, but both balanced well with the dense treat.

The Olaf topper, while allegedly edible, was far too sweet and flavorless to be considered appropriate for human consumption.

The sugary Olaf notwithstanding, School Bread is still a tasty, balanced snack and a great value for the money. Although, a hot summer’s day may not be the time for something so heavy.

While usually housed in Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe, you can currently find School Bread at a snack cart at the front of the Norway Pavilion for $4.25.

  1. GLAD to hear that the School Bread is back in EPCOT! I was sad to hear that Kringla Bakery wasn’t opened and I would probably not try this Norwegian treat. But come Wednesday. it will be one of the first treats that I get!

  2. One of my favorites and a “go to” for me. It’s great to see they are back. Anyone who likes custard should give this a try.
