REVIEW: NEW Halloween Minnie Cupcake with Rocky Road Filling at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

New Halloween treats are arriving at Walt Disney World resort hotels and we’re making our way around to review them all. Today, we had the Halloween Minnie cupcake at Capt. Cook’s in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

This chocolate cupcake has a milk chocolate “rocky road” filling.

The dark chocolate cake base was soft and moist.

The icing was colored buttercream. It was very sweet, but be careful—it will stain your hands and clothing.

The Minnie ears on top were colored white chocolate. It tasted good, but wasn’t our favorite part.

The filling was very tasty. It was like a pudding version of rocky road ice cream, with marshmallow and chocolate chips in it.

We really liked this cupcake, but as with other cupcakes at the Polynesian, we felt that the balance was off. There wasn’t enough filling to be able to have some with each bite, and there was more than enough icing. The flavors would have balanced each other better had those proportions been adjusted.

That said, it’s a super cute cupcake, and we did enjoy it.
