No Plans to Reopen Main Street U.S.A. at Disneyland Despite Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure Reopening in November

Disneyland announced yesterday that Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure would be reopening for Downtown Disney District guests. A Disneyland spokesperson clarified to Patch that there are no plans to reopen Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Park.

Limited shopping and dining will be available on Buena Vista Street, which guests will not need a ticket to access. The main gates of Disney California Adventure will remain closed and guests will enter near La Brea Bakery. For now, there is no specific date for this reopening, only that it will be sometime in November 2020.

When Buena Vista Street opens next month, it will be the first time since the parks closed in March that guests will be able to set foot in a Disneyland Resort theme park. (When Stage 17 reopened earlier this month, it was technically the first time since the parks closed in March that the public could step foot within the perimeter of a park at the Disneyland Resort, since that flex space was formerly occupied by Who Wants to be a Millionaire – Play It! at Disney California Adventure. But because it wasn’t outdoors at a park, it didn’t really feel like you were in the park.)

Though Main Street U.S.A. in Walt’s original Disneyland Park will remain closed, we are excited to return to some of the magic of Disney California Adventure.
