Are you ready to enter The Grid? We still have a long ways to go before construction is complete on TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom, but there’s plenty to see at the site of the coaster.
As we previously reported, scaffolding is gone from the back of the show buildings. Some paneling remains to be finished to the left, on the wall facing Space Mountain.
Supports are being continuously added in preparation for more of the coaster’s illuminated canopy, though we didn’t notice anything new this visit.
There are several pieces of webbed canopy structure sitting around the construction site.
More tarp, including some red, has been added to the track.
It looks like some work has been done on the show building beneath where the track enters. When we last checked in, there were workers in a high reach in that area.
Some work was being done on the side of a low building.
There are more pieces of canopy sitting immediately next to the track, waiting for installation. Construction Cast Members were working on the pieces as we passed by.
This seems to indicate more of the canopy will be installed soon.
Two large cranes stand ready and waiting on either side of the track.
The illuminated canopy will cover the outside portion of the track. While we can get a good view of outdoor construction, we’re sure there’s plenty of work being done inside the show buildings as well.
TRON Lightcycle / Run is set to open by the 50th anniversary of Magic Kingdom next year. You can check out a full POV ride-through of its sister coaster, TRON Lightcycle Power Run, in Shanghai below:
