Disney Springs has now introduced contactless security scanners at its parking garages. These scanners are the same Evolv scanners already in use at EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom, and are located alongside the temperature screening checkpoints. This marks the first time that Disney Springs implements a “bag check” for guests entering the shopping and dining district.

The scanners are created by Evolv, and are said to be “the fastest weapons-screening system on the market.” They are able to scan sixty people every minute and are ten times faster than other security systems.

These contactless scanners are ideal for security amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Going forward, they’ll facilitate the arrival process, making entering theme parks and Disney Springs quicker and more efficient. Evolv scanners have also been installed at Disneyland Resort.
