PHOTO REPORT: EPCOT 11/11/20 (Apple Fritter Donut Holes Redeemed, Yorkshire County Fish Shop Now Open Five Days a Week, New Passholder Holiday Merchandise, Innoventions West Demolition, and More)

Greetings, World Travelers, and hello from a very cloudy and breezy EPCOT! With Hurricane Eta unable to make up its mind regarding intensity and direction, we’ve had some blustery, wet weather here in central Florida, but that’s never stopped us from having a little fun at the parks. We found some things to show you today, so let’s get started!

What better way to start off the day than with some donuts? We took a chance and gave the Apple Fritter Donut Holes from the Donut Box a second try. When we tried them when the booth first opened, we felt they fell short of what they could have been. While they had a good spiced cake flavor, they didn’t have any apple flavor, and were completely lacking the characteristic apple chunks of an apple fritter. While they were good, they weren’t what we were hoping they would be.

We tried them again today and were delighted to find not only apple flavor present, but each donut hole was full of little apple bits! The apples were tart and wonderfully flavorful, and gave the donut hole a moistness inside that was previously lacking. This just might become our breakfast every morning at EPCOT from now on. What a wonderful transformation!

Fueled by a sugar high, we were ready to tackle the day. We had more great food finds ahead of us, much to our delight. Yorkshire County Fish Shop in the United Kingdom Pavilion, previously only open on weekends, has expanded its schedule, and will now be open five days a week, Wednesday through Sunday. The line for fish and chips was going strong all day today!

At the Germany Pavilion, in Karamell-Kuche, we found a returning favorite back in the cold case for the first time since the reopening of the parks—the Pretzel cookie. This cookie contains chocolate chips, toffee chips, marshmallow pieces, and pretzel bits, all drizzled in caramel. We must say, it’s delicious! This cookie is available for $4.59 and discounts do apply.

We found an early release of the Spiked Frozen Apple Pie Moonshine for the Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays at Block & Hans in American Adventure. This drink was so smooth it was dangerous! For our full review, see our article here.

While enjoying our beverage, we noticed that the large center screen had been removed from the American Gardens Theatre. While this may have been a precaution against damage due to winds from Hurricane Eta, it also may be in preparation for the upcoming Taste of EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.

We also noticed that the Mill Stage in the Canada Pavilion had been opened up and speakers seem to have been set up. The benches that had previously lined the front of the stage facing away have been removed as well. Again, perhaps the canvas covers of the stage were rolled up to reduce damage from high winds, but we find it hard to believe that the sound equipment would have been left set up if that were the case. Only time will tell, and we’ll be sure to keep an eye on this spot!
