PHOTO REPORT: Magic Kingdom 11/9/20 (Toll Plaza Update, Construction Workers Seen at the Rivers of America, New Christmas Treats and Merchandise, and Lunching Pad Now Open During the Week!)

Hello from a very rainy and windy Magic Kingdom! With Tropical Storm Eta blowing its way around the southern tip of Florida, we had a wet and blustery day here at the park today. Nothing could damped our spirits as we took in all the amazing Christmas sights, sounds, and tastes here, though! Let’s get started!

On our way in, we checked on the progress being made to the refurbishment of the Toll Plaza. The majority of the repainting seems to be done, but finishing touches still need to be added. Not all of the flags have their shadowing, and the half circles don’t all match. We’ll be watching closely to see what color scheme they choose out of these three choices on the half circles!

The walkway connecting the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa to the Magic Kingdom is nearly complete, as is the Resort Boat Launch that the walkway itself connects to. Lampposts now line the entire length of the path, and cement has been laid the entire length of the path as well. This section of sod was recently marked and cut out, and we wonder if it will have cement poured here as well, perhaps for a temperature check station.

Inside the park, the construction and refurbishment updates continue. The roof refurbishment to “it’s a small world” has progressed, with one visible roof now blue and gold, while the other remains brown.

With the Rivers of America mostly drained now, workers were seen today walking the Riverboat track. They stood and talked for a while before moving down the track and out of sight.

The concrete work has been completed near the Casey’s Corner Restrooms, completing this refurbishment project. The concrete in this corner and the corner in front of First Aid was replaced during this refurbishment, and through the use of a wooden false floor, the area was able to be kept open to guests.

Moving on from construction updates, we had an exciting morning merchandise-wise as the new Christmas Dooney & Bourke arrived at Walt Disney World today. With four styles available in this print, there’s something for every taste. We love how this print ties in with the other Christmas merchandise this year!

Now if we can just get the Spring Roll Cart to follow suit!

belles-christmas-tree-3

There were a few surprise Christmas treats that we saved to try today. One of them was Belle’s Enchanted Christmas Tree, a macaron tree with icing and cranberry-orange filling. It was by far our favorite of all of the new Christmas desserts! We will definitely be getting this again. For the full review, see our article here.

princess-rainy-day-cavalcade-3

With all the rain we had today, the regular Christmas Cavalcades were unable to perform today, so we got the Rainy Day Christmas Cavalcades. It was fun to see all the classic vehicles filled with characters driving down Main Street USA. It certainly made for a fun end to the day!

We had a great day at the Magic Kingdom, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
