We know that things are happening inside the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind attraction at EPCOT. Last week, Imagineer Zach Riddley shared an image of a ride vehicle undergoing push/pull testing. While we cannot take you inside, we can share photos of the pre-show building facade.
The former Universe of Energy Pavilion is currently being transformed. The building’s shape remains mostly the same.
Construction walls block the view of what is going on at ground level. The scaffolding and scrim to the right hide construction of the Xandarian Nova Corps spaceship.
Corrugated metal panels have been installed on the roof in preparation for solar panels.
Since we last checked in, more metal framing has been added to give shape to the facade.
A dark scrim hides the work that is happening inside the building while also protecting the interior from the elements.
Below is the original concept art, although some elements of the pavilion have changed in planning.
Here is the most recent concept art revealed at last year’s D23 Expo.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is set to open in 2021. Recent milestones include the arrival of the rollercoaster cars and a testing video.
