PHOTOS: “The Majestic” Neon Lettering Added Above Legends of Hollywood Marquee in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

It looks like The Majestic Theater is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, replacing half of Legends of Hollywood. We first saw signs of this back in August, and now new neon above the scrim-covered Legends of Hollywood marquee declares “The Majestic.”

The building’s theme will likely be split between The Majestic Theater on this side and Legends of Hollywood on the other side.

“The Majestic” is written out in classic Hollywood-style neon on both sides of the sign.

The Majestic Theatre existed in Los Angeles in the early 20th century. According to Cinema Treasures, the theater opened in November 1908 as a home for stage shows, screening films in between productions. In 1915, it became a full-time movie house with a Wurlizer organ in the foyer, then switched back and forth from cinema to stage theater for years, before closing in April 1933. The following month, it was demolished to make way for a parking lot.

Though it’s not confirmed and My Disney Experience still refers to the store as Legends of Hollywood, we expect the marquee with the store’s new name to be revealed soon.
