REVIEW: “An Orange Bird Christmas” White Chocolate Mousse Returns to the Magic Kingdom for the 2020 Holiday Season

The icon of Sunshine Tree Terrace, our favorite little orange bird, got his very own dessert for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party in 2019. It seemed the dessert was such a hit, that Disney decided to bring the special mousse back this year for the holiday season.

This is probably the nicest-looking holiday item at the park. While it might not scream Christmas, Orange Bird does look adorable with his Santa Hat.

The orange taste was very pronounced throughout the dish, but it wasn’t overly tart. Even someone who isn’t a citrus fan will still like this. The mousse was very rich and had plenty of orange flavor, however we do wish there was more or a larger citrus-almond cake to balance the strong, rich taste.

The cake wasn’t flavorful, and there wasn’t a lot of it. It was basically just a baked pedestal used to hold the mousse.

The exterior of the dessert is very thick and hard to break, so be careful it doesn’t roll off the plate as you try to eat it. We really had to really chip at it to break through, but once you get in, it’s really good. Definitely worth a try!

Of course, this dessert can be found at Sunshine Tree Terrace in the Magic Kingdom. We expect it to go quickly, but luckily this treat will be available from November 6th to December 30th, giving you plenty of opportunities to try and get one.
