REVIEW: NEW Mickey Mouse Gingerbread Cookie, Holiday Coconut Macaroon, and Peppermint Bark Debut at Disney’s BoardWalk

The holidays are in full swing around Walt Disney World, and today, we’ve received the gift of three new holiday treats at Disney’s BoardWalk.

This attractive-looking trio debuted today, so we had to try them out!

Mickey Mouse Gingerbread Cookie — $5.99

First up is a Mickey Mouse gingerbread cookie.

The cookie is dipped in chocolate to make the ears, along with yellow chocolate for his shoes.

Three M&M’s make up the buttons, held on with a small dab of icing. It’s got a decent-sized thickness for a cookie.

Unfortunately, while it looked nice, that was the only good thing about it. The gingerbread cookie was horrendous. It was so chewy that it seemed kind of stale. We’re not sure how you achieve this on your first day making them.

Frankly, we can’t recommend this, but thankfully, we got the worst option out of the way first. The other two are a marked improvement!

Holiday Coconut Macaroon — $5.99

The coconut macaroon is also dipped in chocolate on its sides, showing a red and green color scheme for Christmas.

Admittedly, it looks more like a country’s flag (such as Italy) than anything Christmas.

For the money, this thing is giant. If you’re with a group, this a big enough option to share.

We thought this macaroon was amazing.

It has a rich coconut flavor, and the sweetness of the chocolate makes it a little more interesting.

We highly recommend this one.

Peppermint Bark — $6.49

Finally, there’s a peppermint bark, made with milk and white chocolate and topped with crushed candy cane pieces.

This is slightly more expensive than the cookie or macaroon, but you do get a nice portion size that’s another good one to share.

We found the bark to be surprisingly good.

Despite all the crushed candy cane, it’s not overly minty, so it provides a taste of chocolate with a light, cool flavor at the end that isn’t overpowering.

This is another one we recommend. You can find all three of these items at Boardwalk Bakery.
