PHOTOS: Liberty Square Market Reopens with Significant Changes at Magic Kingdom

Our favorite place to grab a turkey leg at the Magic Kingdom closed earlier this month for refurbishment. Though a temporary cart was set up to curb our fix, we can’t help but be excited to see that Liberty Square Market has reopened today — and we like its new look!

No work has been done to the exterior of the building and you can’t notice a change upon a quick glance, but things seem pretty different as you get closer.

The signage when entering the line at the counter-service location features the menu. We are surely happy that the iconic turkey leg has its Liberty Square home back! The other offerings available at Liberty Square Market include an all-beef hot dog, a Mickey pretzel with cheese, and a Minute-Maid frozen slushy.

Of course, assorted snacks and bottled drinks are available as well. You grab the item(s) you would like to purchase as you make your way through the line.

The Coca-Cola drinks are encased in ice at park opening. The ice will be replenished multiple times throughout the day to ensure the drinks are kept cold for Guests.

An entirely new service counter was installed. This is pretty different from the old one and was probably long overdue.

The white painted cabinetry feels more like the architecture of the adjacent Hall of Presidents.

The prepared foods are kept behind these locked cabinets at the counter.

Freshly-made chocolate chip cookies and Mickey pretzels are kept in a case by checkout.

Behind the scenes, you can see how nicely done the refurbishment of this area was.

  1. Windows with locks and hinge hardware? To have windows is fine, but I cannot believe these will ever be opened for any reason. It would have been simpler to just install them as fixed units.

As for pricing…food anywhere at WDW is outrageously expensive. This is just another example.
