Hello from a chilly, drizzly day at the Magic Kingdom. The less-than-ideal weather didn’t seem to deter the last of the holiday weekend crowds, as wait times and line lengths soared, but we still enjoyed finding all the new things at this lovely park for you. Let’s get started!
Starting with construction updates, scrim fabric is being added to strategic parts of Cinderella Castle Stage. We are curious to see where this is going, and will continue to watch it’s progress.
Additional scaffolding and scrim have been added to the construction walls outside of the Peter Pan’s Flight queue, completing the vertical climb for the horizontal length of wall.
The Hall of Presidents remains closed for updating, with no return date known.
Work continues on the repainting of the mural on Bonjour! Village Gifts, although we suspect the rain overnight kept much progress from being made.
The Tomorrowland Transit Authority Peoplemover is still closed for refurbishment, and was not seen testing at all today. Refurbishment is scheduled to last through February 28th, but we’ll be watching closely to see if anything changes before then.
We found three new sections of concrete work today. The first was in Tomorrowland, very close to yesterday’s patch. The second and third were right outside of one of the doors for Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe.
The Injun Joe raft that we saw either testing or training yesterday was in service today, ferrying guests in between Tom Sawyer Island and the mainland.
The restrooms in Adventureland were closed today. Judging by the large amount of wet towels we saw piled up outside of the doors later in the day, plus the mopping the Cast Members were having to do, we suspect there was a water line issue. No other locations dependent on water nearby were effected.
We found additional plexiglass barriers today added to the barriers we found yesterday in the queue of Pirates of the Caribbean. Even with the addition of these barriers, making the line able to switch back more times in this area, we saw no noticeable difference in the length of line for a 60 minute wait today for this attraction.
The construction site for TRON Lightcycle / Run was bit quieter than normal the last few days, but it started to pick back up today. We saw workers in man lifts working throughout the illuminated canopy, including doing some welding.
The framework for a dam was placed in the East side of the Cinderella Castle moat overnight. We will be keeping a close eye on these two dams as construction progresses.
We found a surprisingly long line this morning for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The line wrapped all the way around the attraction, and would have looped around a second time, but was instead diverted back the other way. The line snaked through the area for “Enchanted Tales With Belle” and across the bridge to Gaston’s Tavern.
The line then turned the corner, went past Under the Sea: Journey of The Little Mermaid, and started near Ariel’s Grotto. The wait time at this point was 120 minutes, despite the physical sign here saying “90 minutes”.
In looking for merchandise to share with you today, we found that Uptown Jewelers still had a stock of Jungle Cruise Minnie Mouse: The Main Attraction Loungefly mini backpacks for sale. We were honestly shocked to see these bags still available, and we hope that it made someone’s day!
We found a new large Open Edition pin featuring characters from “Cinderella” to go with the two other large pins in the same style that we found earlier this week. This pin is available at The Emporium for $12.99.
We found several new designs available in the MaDe kiosk today. The first was this “I Love You 3000” phone case featuring Iron Man.
Next, we found this Iron Man design on a phone case and magnet. We have seen the magnet in person, but it is now available in the kiosk as a magnet and a phone case. Magnets are $14.99, and phone cases start at $29.99.
Moving on to the shirt kiosk, we found these three new designs featuring characters and art from “The Mandalorian”. All shirts in the kiosk are customizable and start at $29.99.
We had a wonderful day at the Magic Kingdom, and we hope you enjoyed coming along with us. Have a magical day!
In response to the ridiculous queue for Pirates, just bring back FP+ already!! Hasn’t the Guest experience suffered enough??
