The future location of “Trader Sam’s Gift Shop” has arrived at the Jungle Cruise at the Magic Kingdom. The shop is still covered in netting and under construction. This scene will replace the former Trader Sam scene at the ride’s finale.
The Trader Sam animatronic figure was removed back in April as part of the ongoing refurbishment to address cultural sensitivity issues.
The rhino pole from the “Trapped Safari” scene and the hut and spears from the “Abandoned Pygmy Welcoming Party” scene have also been removed.
Pictured above is Trader Sam’s Gift Shop at Disneyland’s Jungle Cruise, which is set to reopen July 16th. The Jungle Cruise at the Magic Kingdom will stay open during its refurbishment, with work to be completed this summer.
