In the latest of an ongoing series of changes to address cultural sensitivity at the Jungle Cruise, the masks have been removed from the canoes at the former “Pymgy Welcoming Party” scene.
This scene has undergone several changes already, with the spears and Pygmy hut removed. The hut was replaced recently with the “Boats & Baits & Bites” shack.
For reference, the photo below shows the canoes with the masks intact.
Over at the “Ambush” scene, the second and third sets of attacking natives have been removed. The first set of hunters was removed earlier this month.
Recent changes have also seen the Trader Sam figure replaced with “Trader Sam’s Gift Shop” and new characters debuting at the “Trapped Safari” scene.

the attack on humour still continues
We need to make sure to tell tribes around the world that they are insensitive to our country.
That’s the only thing cheapek knows is selling stuff so the imagineers know how to get things pushed through by making it all about his favorite pastime!
Typical Lame WDW, afraid of the cancel culture.
Those masks were Mickey, Donald & Goofy. They could have left those. Hidden characters.
Ok let’s all pretend we didn’t find it amusing in an innocent manner and be appalled at the original ride.
These changes continue to represent the laziness and lack of creativity at Disney. No effort is put into these.
try not to comment disney is erasing a certain races history. you will awaken the hordes of wokes that patrol these pages and receive a flurry of thumbs down.
I don’t even think it’s people. I’d say trolling cheapek bots. Worse than ultron! 👎
Unbelievable.
