Let’s check in on the construction of Connections Café and Eatery in the World Celebration neighborhood of EPCOT. Not only will Connections be a new counter-service restaurant, but it will also be home to the park’s permanent Starbucks location.
From the Monorail, we can see the area directly in front of Connections on the World Discovery side is still covered in dirt. The doorway and half the windows remain covered in white tarps.
Near the column in the breezeway, crew members were sitting on short walls in the ground — possibly part of the foundation of a new small structure or flower beds. Most of the building has been painted the new off-white color matching Creations Shop.
Some red, orange, yellow, and blue sections of the building remain.
From the ground, we took another look inside the restaurant, which is illuminated with blue neon lights.
We could see crew members working on the ceiling inside.
Outside, a crew member in a scissor lift was working on the corner of the roof overhang, above the doorway.
Some repainting remains to be done in the breezeway as well, where we can still see blue columns.
The first of five Connections Café and Eatery marquees was installed inside the breezeway a few days ago.
This marquee only reads “Connections Café” so may be an entrance directly into the Starbucks.
Connections Café and Eatery is set to open this spring, though no exact date has been announced.
