Welcome to another busy weekend here at the Universal Orlando Resort. Mardi Gras is in full swing and there are lots of refurbishments happening around the parks. Let’s check out what’s happening today!
Just a quick stop into Voodoo Doughnut. There are 4 specialty doughnuts right now and they all sound amazing. There’s a London Fog doughnut with an Earl Grey Bavarian cream and lemon icing. There’s a strawberry iced heart filled with Nutella and a lemon iced heart filled with strawberry. There’s also a simple, cinnamon king cake doughnut, too.
This summer is going to have a very different view once the Minions take over the front of Universal Studios Florida.
It’s very busy today and all the food booths seem to be packed. The food is really fantastic this year, so be sure to grab a discounted food and beverage card and enjoy a little bit of everything.
Just a quick stop in the French Quarter for a crown cookie. You can read reviews for everything on the site!
The construction walls in San Francisco near Chez Alcatraz have come down. It’s pretty clear which section was refurbished when you look at the ground.
Inside the Tribute Store, there are new Mardi Gras coffees available for $21. There are four different flavors available.
San Francisco Pastry Company has a beautiful looking Banana Foster Crème Brule sphere. We’ll be back to try this one!
Let’s check in on what’s happening at Islands of Adventure next. One of these days, I need to name a baby raptor.
Since it’s Saturday, the park was busy and VelociCoaster had a 70 minute wait.
Jurassic Park River Adventure is still closed. The closure was extended and the attraction is still under refurbishment. We’re hopeful it will reopen within a week or two, but stay tuned for more updates.
Wossamotta U got a bit of an update inside. The store had recently removed the Trolls and Secret Life of Pets decals from the windows and now the displays inside have gotten an update. There’s Jaws, E.T., and more featured along the walls. Personally, the raptors are my favorite addition!
The box of skunks is missing from Toon Lagoon. There are a lot of different figures and props out for refurbishment in the area.
Me Ship the Olive is closed for refurbishment. There are construction walls up and we can see some work already started around the exterior of the ship. The refurbishment will probably last a few weeks since Popeye and Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges is getting ready for their annual refurbishment. Let’s just hope there aren’t any fires this time!
The Betty Boop Store in Toon Lagoon is still open and you can now find the Arctic Coke machine in here. Purchase a beverage and watch it turn into a slush before your eyes.
Thanks for joining us around the parks today. We’re going to get out of here, but if you want to watch our day, be sure to check out the update video below!
