TRON Lightcycle / Run will soft open to all guests at 9 a.m. this morning, but the only way to ride is by securing a Virtual Queue boarding group or purchasing Individual Lightning Lane.

TRON ILL sold out

The first batch of Virtual Queue groups also booked quickly this morning. Another batch will open at 1:00 p.m., but no more Individual Lightning Lanes will be sold.

Individual Lighting Lane

With individual Lightning Lane, guests can purchase a time for their party to arrive at a few specific attractions.

The Disney Genie Tip Board will tell guests when the next Lightning Lane window is for eligible attractions. The Tip Board will clarify which attractions are available individually and which are available through Genie+. Visiting an attraction’s landing page within the app will also show an option for booking Lightning Lane.

See our guide here for step-by-step instructions to purchase Individual Lightning Lane.

Virtual Queue

Guests can join the virtual queue via the My Disney Experience app. When they join, they are assigned a boarding group and told an approximate return time. When the boarding group is called in My Disney Experience, guests can report to the attraction within the provided timeframe to ride it. Guests may need to still wait in a physical queue at the attraction.

Virtual queue access for TRON Lightcycle / Run will open at 7:00 a.m. each day. Guests do not have to be in the park at this time but must have a Magic Kingdom Park Pass.

At 1:00 p.m., virtual queue access will open again. Guests must be in Magic Kingdom at this time to join.

The virtual queue will open again at 6:00 p.m. when there are extended evening hours.

TRON Lightcycle / Run

TRON Lightcycle / Run is located right behind Space Mountain in Tomorrowland. It’s outside the park’s berm, and is housed in a sweeping white canopy, which helps hide a boxy show building. A walkway between Tomorrowland and Storybook Circus is also available.

Guests enter by walking under the canopy, known as the Upload Conduit. Upon uploading to The Grid, guests will join Team Blue in a race to cross through eight energy gates before the opposing Team Orange.

As you approach the entrance, there are two TRON ride vehicles to the left. They serve two purposes – so you can try them out and know what to expect when you get inside, and they provide a nice photo op.

We previously reported that some individuals have reported issues with being able to fit into the ride vehicles, so this is a great place to try them out and make sure.

There are double-sided lockers before the load area so guests can safely stow their personal belongings. Lockers are unlocked with MagicBands or plastic ticket cards; MagicMobile tickets on smartphones do not work, and guests without physical ticket media must request a white RFID card from Cast Members.
