Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster merchandise is now available at Majestic Theater Shop on Sunset Boulevard at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith went down for a lengthy refurbishment back in February 2023. It is not expected to reopen until at least Summer 2023. Along with the ride, the gift shop also is under refurbishment leaving guests wondering where to get their Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster merchandise.
Luckily, we stopped into the Majestic Theater Shop on Sunset Boulevard and happened to spot some Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster merchandise — including a new shirt.
We’ve seen many of these shirts, the Loungefly bag, and mugs before, as they debuted earlier this year.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Shirt- $39.99
This grey short sleeve shirt features a front tie-knot, which makes it look far from a “plain t-shirt”. It also seems very lightweight, which is perfect for those toasty Florida days.
It also features red metallic writing that along with the attraction name, has the phrases “Step On It”, “Rock On!”, “Prepare to Rock!” on the front. It is also decorated with black outlined roses and solid black stars on the front and sleeves.
The back also features the black outlined roses and solid black stars all over.
Rock Around the Shop
Many years ago, the merchandise at Rock Around the Shop — the gift shop for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster — used to feature Aerosmith merchandise and even had Aerosmith on many of the shirts, pens, mugs, etc. This merchandise was quietly phased out, and for years people have wondered if this meant Aerosmith would be replaced with another band. It’s more likely this is related to the cost of licensing the Aerosmith brand.
The only piece of merchandise in the entire store that had a hint of Aerosmith on it, were the drum sticks that were seen sticking out of the drum set. It is unclear if they will still be available once the refurbishment is complete this summer.
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is one of Walt Disney World’s most popular thrill rides. When it opened in July 1999, it was an instant favorite among guests.
In this ride, guests will enter the fictional G-Force Records building and join Aerosmith in the studio. Realizing they are about to be late for their huge concert and don’t want to leave us hanging, they generously bring us along with them in a stretch—make that a super stretch—limo.
This is no ordinary limo and is unlike any limo you’ve ever been in before. Each limo features a clever license plate that features puns like “2FAST4U”, “1QKLIMO”, “UGOBABE”, “BUHBYE”, and “H8TRFFC”. The cool thing about each license plate is that it gives you a hint as to which Aerosmith songs you’ll be hearing on your wild race through Los Angeles to get to the show.
- 2FAST4U- “Sweet Emotion” live
- 1QKLIMO- “Nine Lives”
- BUHBYE- “Young Lust”, “F.I.N.E”, “Love in an Elevator(Rollercoaster)”
- UGOBABE- “Love in an Elevator(Rollercoaster) and “Walk This Way”
- H8TRFFC- “Back in the Saddle” and “Dude(Looks Like a Lady)”
The coaster goes from 0 to 57mph in 2.8 seconds and quite literally takes your breath away. Once you hear Steven Tyler, lead singer of Aerosmith, start counting down, you better hang on. You are then launched into the dark but there are cool, neon signs everywhere. Riders will experience up to 5Gs of force, which fits perfectly with G-Force Records, and travel through three inversions.
