The first round of Cast Member previews for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom are over and the attraction is taking some time off before more previews begin. It had significant downtime and evacuations during this week’s testing but hopefully, some issues will be resolved while the ride is closed. Crews are also adding final touches to the area around Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Final Touches
The bridge that crosses over the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure flume has fresh sealant around its edges. The bridge (and guests walking over it) can get splashed with water when the ride is operating.
The white sealant runs along the brick and stonework that makes up the bridge’s railings.
There’s also a line of sealant down the center of the bridge’s planks.
The bridge leads to the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure entrance, Frontierland Railroad Station, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It crosses over the Tiana’s Bayou Adventure flume in two places, creating tunnels that guests pass through after the ride’s final drop.
Though the attraction wasn’t operational on Saturday, water was running.
We saw a control panel open and illuminated under the right tunnel.
Over at Critter Co-Op, one of the new Tiana’s Bayou Adventure gift shops, new colorful bottles hang between two trees. These are in front of the display window closest to Lari the armadillo’s home.
The colorful bottles resemble the glowing bottles in Mama Odie’s home. They each hang from individual ropes, which are attached to two ropes strung between the trees.
Critter Co-Op will open sometime after Tiana’s Bayou Adventure officially opens on June 28.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure takes over Splash Mountain, which opened in 1992 and closed in 2023. Splash Mountain was often closed during its final years due to ride issues including sinking logs. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure uses the same ride system, which hasn’t operated on a regular basis in a year and a half, so some downtime is to be expected. However the system reportedly wasn’t updated, leading to continued issues.
