A woman was arrested at Disneyland Resort this week after lying about her kids ages, according to local news station KTLA5.
A woman was accused of trying to sneak children into Disney California Adventure park without buying tickets. She reportedly told Cast Members that her children were two years old. Children under the age of three do not require a ticket and can enter the Disneyland Resort theme parks at no cost.
The family was stopped as the children appeared to be older than two. When confronted, the mother refused to comply with Security Cast Members. She was ultimately arrested for trespassing. During the debacle, an officer reportedly requested to see her ID and she refused that as well, which landed her with a charge of “obstructing a peace officer.”
A video of the woman being escorted out by police and Cast Members went viral. You can watch it below.
The video contains footage of the woman’s children crying and clinging to their mother, and yelling “help” and “help me” to the onlookers.
Guests sneaking kids in by pretending they’re young enough for free admission is not a new phenomenon. Parents of newly-3-year-olds are common culprits, and often are encouraged by other families who have done it previously, but guests have tried to push the lie with much older kids as well.
Another video went viral in 2022, where a family appears to sneak an older child in using an infant car seat in a stroller.
Disney does not require proof of age, and the “two and under” policy runs on only an honor system.
