“Inside Out” and “Inside Out 2” both feature brief cameos of Journey Into Imagination’s very own Figment.
Figment Easter Egg in ‘Inside Out’
Figment has a brief cameo in the first “Inside Out” at 49 minutes and 22 seconds into the movie, just before Joy and Sadness leave Imagination Land. He is in a framed portrait, similar to how we see him in EPCOT during the Festival of the Arts.
MagicalMouseFacts on TikTok posted the quick moment of Figment’s portrait to their channel.
Figment Cameo in ‘Inside Out 2’
In the sequel to the film, “Inside Out 2,” there is yet another nod to Figment. The Mickey Wiki posted on X, “How did no one tell me there is a Figment/Journey Into Imagination Easter egg in Inside Out 2!?” with this image.
The purple board game features Figment right in the center with a scroll behind him that reads, “Journey into Imagination.” On the top left side says, “Special Edition,” which it certainly is since we haven’t seen one outside of Riley’s memories.
Named after the original version of the attraction, Journey Into Imagination opened on March 5, 1983 at EPCOT, and introduced guests to Figment and the Dreamfinder, who taught guests about the power of imagination. The ride received an update in 1998-1999 and reopened as Journey Into Your Imagination with a new story, no Dreamfinder, and only a cameo from Figment. This version closed in 2001, with Journey Into Imagination with Figment opening in 2002, bringing the purple dragon back as the main character.

‘Inside Out’ and ‘Inside Out 2’
Recently, Disney released “Inside Out 2” on Disney+ after huge box office success. Pixar has been in some hot water since the success of the second installation with layoffs, rumors surrounding the CCO, and accusations of making the lead character, Riley, less gay.
